Sadashiv Peth Diaries...

Today, yet again walking on the roads of Sadashiv Peth I paused and was mesmerised by those streets: old yet new, dusty yet beautiful and crowded yet belonging.

The stories of hope and homeliness that these streets, the vintage wadas, tall trees and a group of passing by elders out for their morning walk are yet unheard of. Beyond the puneri pathya and 1-4 sleep, the scent of wisdom that fills these peths is yet to be written and spoken of.
A lot is been said and written about the ORN but the tales of Sadashiv peth are yet to be narrated for…
“कभी इसे ऊँचाई से देखना… लाखों सपनों का समंदर है ये
यहाँ पर आपको जज्बों की , उम्मीदों की, निराशाओं की अनगिनत कहानियाँ सुनने मिलेंगी ।" (TVF Aspirants)

The stories change, characters change but the place stays. From the morning newspaper discussions over tea that wakes up every corner of the peth to soft hymns and morning aartis that lights the streets in gold, from the Xerox shops to infinite number of 'khanawals', from the tear and tension to colours and dhol-tasha, the place has seen many stories in happening yet it embraces every new one with the same level of warmth.

A few say, don't fall in love with the process, for you would get stuck with it. Others say enjoy the process and don't worry about the results. I'm not sure about how to deal with the process. But I must say 'the place' is worth falling for!

~Dedicated to all the new aspirants like me who are still finding a place in this overcrowded streets to fit in, to all those who are so soaked and have been a part of the place which has seen them hustle during the March and April and has felt their tears of joy and sorrow during January and February, and to all those officers who may have been a long way in their life now but still miss the ‘Taprivarcha Chaha’ !

  2. Yes, it's true that one should not get too much involved in the process, as one would get stuck with it. It's a very practical and detached way of looking at the process. But still, in my case I used to get lost in the process, so many times, that I had to re-caliberate my focus to exams. Ans yes, I got stuck in the process...!
So, in my experience, it is absolutely right to not get too much involved in the process. One must enjoy the process, not forcefully, but naturally. It is actually a very engaging journey, an experience of a lifetime. But it must not remain just the experience of a lifetime, as cracking an exam is an eye of the fish.

The positive vibes of early mornings, the editorials, then discussion at the tea corner on current affairs, sometimes heated debates with ideological clashes!

Then after breakfast the GS Books, and diving into the amazing worlds from ancient history to contemporary politics, from big bang theory to technological explosion, from core of the earth to the newly found distant galaxies, from subatomic particles to giant planets...!!! The ocean of knowledge...
Beware! Re-caliberate, focus...focus...You must be a jack of all trades but master of none.

Then the tasteless khanawal (at least in my case) , to provide enough energy to carry on.

And then, the place, the topic of the day. Although I haven't been in the same environment as you are, my environment was different, but yes, I cherish the memories of the places where I spent my time diving in the ocean...!

Now I'll stop here else my mind will get flooded with the memories of those days.
    I enjoyed Aspirants a lot.

At last, I must say you should definitely enjoy the process and you must be enjoying it. But never get carried away in the process, always keep yourself anchored firmly to the main focus that is to crack exams.

Nice blog..I enjoyed it and I must thank you for the blog as it gave me the opportunity to rediscover my preparation days in the files of my memory.
